Penchurch is an RPG set in a present-day village situated on the Cornish coastline, where a new on-location television production has just set up shop. The modern world is never far away, but in Penchurch, old habits die hard, and traditions have held sway for quite some time. Still, there are surprises to be found around every corner in an otherwise apparently sleepy and serene little place, and the people of Penchurch are as given to the vagaries of human nature as anybody.

Christmas and New Year has been and gone, and as we creep into January things are changing all over Penchurch but whether it's for the better is up for debate. Cast and crew are beginning to descend on the sleepy little town, bringing all their literal and figurative baggage with them - not to mention the reporters.

January is here, bringing with it the cold rolling in from off the sea, frost, bright and icy mornings, and the more than occasional bouts of rain.

A broad sweep of sand and rock, popular with walkers in all weathers. Bound by rocky headlands, the main stretch forms the old harbour, with a dock and pier at one end. Many other, smaller coves also dot this coastline.
A bright little cafe, with a bakery attached, situated near the end of the main street, fronting the beach.
Lighter fare is served, available to take-away: soups and sandwiches, teas and coffees (including espresso drinks,) soft drinks and ice creams. The bakery boasts fresh loaves and buns, as well as all manner of cakes and sweet things.

In emergencies, please dial 999. The nearest hospital is 30 minutes away by road.
On the ground floor is a small reception/waiting area, and Dr. Meredith's office, where he consults and examines his patients.
Chemist shop selling all manner of health products, vitamins, and first-aid supplies. A small pharmacy counter at the back caters to local prescription needs.
The local garage, with a small petrol station attached. Run by Luke Walsh, who also provides handyman services for the village, from basic plumbing, painting and carpentry, to clearing gutters and general maintenance.
