If you wish to make a new character, please consider whether you might be able to fill any of these needs! There are plenty of characters available. For further details or if you have any questions, please contact me--Emily (Janet Weston)--for details, or whichever player is specified.
• [Player's choice of name]: male, between 20 and 45 - Janet Weston's nephew by marriage, who is not from Penchurch. Circumstances have put him in need of a job, and Janet in need of a hand with the pub. Backstory and PB unspecified.
• [Player's choice of name]: male, between 30 and 50 - lives in a large, modern, gated mansion just outside of Penchurch built by his late father. He is known for being reclusive except for occasional mysterious comings and goings and the odd trip to the village and being generally unpleasant and short-tempered when he is seen. How he made his money, what he does at his mansion and what his back story is are left to the player's imagination. However, they provide a constant source of speculation and interest to the inhabitants of the village. Suggested PB is Robert Downey Jr.
•
[This request is currently on-hold due to player absence.]
• Sir Trevor Roscoe: male, early sixties - the present owner of Penchurch Abbey, a baronet and solicitor, generally working with high-society divorces and property disputes/legal wills. In recent years has taken an interest in keeping Penchurch Abbey in better condition, as an historic property, and now as a filming location. His wife, Laura, died in a car accident more than ten years ago, and the family generally no longer came to stay at Penchurch Abbey, after that, though they had often spent family holidays there in the past. [PB unspecified, would have to look reasonably relatable to Anna's PB, Alice Englert.]
• Jasper Roscoe: male, late twenties - son and heir of Sir Trevor. Something of a bad boy reputation in London, has made the occasional appearance in the background on Made in Chelsea. Not presently dwelling in Penchurch, and has no plans to do so--he's fine to let his father try to patch up the family's holdings. His line of business is unspecified, but he should probably have a career of some sort, given his expensive Etonian education and who his Daddy is. [PB unspecified, would have to look reasonably related to Anna's PB, Alice Englert.]
• Kim [Surname unspecified]: male, 32 - A successful BBC executive from London [job could change, but I'd love for him to be involved in the production of Bournewood.] Kind and down to earth, but ambitious and hard-working. Worked in the same film production company as Ruby Elliot, four years ago. They briefly dated, but parted amicably as neither felt ready for a long-term relationship at the time, feeling that things were going a bit TOO well, and fearing they might end up more heavily committed than they had meant to be. Ellie's biological father, he is at present unaware that he has a daughter. The logic behind their breakup is why Roo has felt she shouldn't burden Kim with an attachment neither was looking for. Even if she was comfortable making the decision for herself, it's not one she wanted to force on someone she considered a friend. His reasons for coming to Penchurch may involve potential business opportunities, and he doesn't really know Ruby lives there--she may have mentioned it once or twice as where she grew up, but I doubt this has remained in his memory beyond a subconscious note, perhaps. [PB - Chiwetel Ejiofor preferred, but I am open to suggestions.]

Bournewood cast requiring actor characters for the following roles:

• Ada Beckett as Miss Elinor Ashe, ward to the duke, a little younger than Lady Anne.

• _____ as Miss Bessy Black, maid and confidante to Lady Anne and Elinor.
• _____ as Sir William Ellis, the local squire, de facto patriarch in the village during the duke's absence, does not trust him.

• _____ as Doctor Daniel Welton, local physician.

Needed in general in the village, plus whatever family or dependents they may have:
• Local police officers [gender and age unspecified--no more than two, please.]
• Teachers for the primary school [gender and age unspecified--no more than two, please, though we could talk about classroom assistants and such--not likely to be full-time jobs, however.]
• Theodore Meredith, GP for the village
• Lucy Parr, vicar for the village
• People to run the village businesses and shops [please check which businesses have people already attached to them.]
Roo Elliott, baker at Cecily's Cafe.
• The Rosdews run the local commercial fishing enterprise, perhaps a parent and child, or two siblings. [Jim Rosdew. Could also have more Rosdews.]
• Local farmers [ages and genders unspecified.]
• Locals who run B&Bs [ages and genders unspecified.]
Frederica Haverleigh at Hill Farm
• Locals who work at Penchurch Abbey, (gardeners/maintenance/caretaker. Also possible are private staff working with/for the Roscoe family--not likely to be extensive.) [Ages and genders unspecified.]
Mrs. Abberley, housekeeper/cook for Roscoe family at Penchurch Abbey. Local Penny, in her 50s-70s. Currently a NPC.
• Locals who live in Penchurch but work In Town, nearby. (Will need to drive/carpool for the commute.) [Ages and genders unspecified.]
• Locals who do freelance or work from home [ages and genders unspecified].
• Older/retired people--can be Pennys or people who have moved to the area.
• Regular families.
• Teens.
At this point I'm going to ask people to please not app child characters, say below the age of 13--if there are children any younger, please play them as NPCs attached to played characters.
Also, despite appearances, I'm not looking for this to turn into an episode of Midsomer Murders, so please no serial killers. Kooky loner recluses welcome, though! They just gotta interact SOME time or else it'll be a very strange lonely game.
TEMPORARY CHARACTERS:
This being a tourist spot, we will consider allowing temporary characters who may be staying in Penchurch only for a little while, be it for work or leisure. Get in touch with me via PM if you think you have a character idea that could work with the temporary format. Naturally, if plots lead that way, a passing-through character could decide to stay longer, or permanently, if circumstances will reasonably allow it.
